The community was deeply saddened to lear of the death of Mrs. Harvey Davis, which occurred last Tuesday evening following several weeks of illness. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Davis home and interment was made in the Prairie Rose Cemetery. Rev. N. E. Lambly, pastor of the Federated church conducted the services.
Eula Claire Anderson was born May 23, 1883 at Maryville, Missouri and died April 14, 1931, aged 47 years, 10 months, and 21 days. At an early age she moved with her parents to the vicinity of Corning, Iowa where she received her early education and at the age of fifteen she entered the Corning schools, later attending Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she was recognized as a musician of more than usual ability, being selected to play in two orchestras.
On March 8, 1905, she was united in marriage to Harvey Rollin Davis, who survives. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her passing, her father, E. C. Anderson of Corning, her sister, Hattie May Tuck, also of Corning, and one brother, E. B. Anderson of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Mrs. Davis was a loving and true wife, a good neighbor, and friend, an ardent admirer of everything pertaining to nature, and spent much time with her flowers and pets. She gave geneerously of her musical ability and was most happy when she made others happy. She was devoted to her home and will be sadly missed there. She had high ideals of right and justice, and would not compromise with wrong doing. Truly a noble and honorable woman has lived and died.
