Priscilla Margaret Kuhl, daughter of Michael and Gertrude Meuer, was born August 11, 1889, at Bristol, South Dakota. She passed away at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield,Iowa, March 1, 1977, at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 18 days. She was married to Lawrence Kuhl on November 10, 1920, in her home town of Bristol, South Dakota. Born to this union were four children, Robert, Patricia, Richard and Helen.
They made their first home in Harlan, Iowa, where Mr. Kuhl was employed at the Shelby County Bank. They lived there until June, 1927, when they purchased a theater and moved to Corning, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Kuhl purchased a second theater in Greenfield, Iowa, in 1943. Mrs. Kuhl sold her home in Corning and moved to Greenfield in February, 1967, where she made her home at 208 N.W. Grant. Since May, 1976, she resided at the Greenfield Manor. She was active with her husband in the theater business for 21 years and after his death continued helping in the family business. She found great happiness and satisfaction in her family, home, church and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, in 1948; a son, Robert, who died while serving his country in the Air Force in 1944; her parents, and one sister, Selena. She is mourned by her three children, Mrs. Patricia Fees and Richard Kuhl of Greenfield and Helen Bryson of Afton; sons-in-law Hartford Fees and Rolland Bryson and daughter-in-law Kathryn Kuhl; one brother, M.J. Meuer of Harlan and one sister, Mrs. J.E. Marx of Bristol, South Dakota; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at St. John's Catholic Church in Greenfield Friday morning, March 4,1977. at 10:00 a.m., Rev. E.J. Klein officiating. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Dorothy Wallace. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Corning, Iowa. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Bob Fees, Mark Fees, Matt Bryson, Jim Fees, Jack Kuhl, Rich Bryson and Michael Fees.
