Lowell Rush Wilson, son of Erastus and Mamie Hopkins Wilson, was born April 20, 1913, in Decatur County, Iowa, and entered into rest March 3,1986, at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 13 days.
He was united in marriage Dec. 21, 1935, with Eva Margaret Spring at the Mt. Zion Church in rural Adams County.
This union was blessed by the birth of two daughters, Barbara Claudine and Janice Lorraine and one son, Leland Russell. Lowell and Margaret just recently observed their 50th wedding anniversary.
They made their home in rural Adams County, fanning, and in 1952 moved into Lenox to be in the oil business. In 1947 he joined the Corning Masonic Instruction Lodge #275 and later transferred to the Lenox Tremont Lodge #343 A.F. and A.M.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Edward, Cecil and Roscoe; two sisters, Icle and Jewell; and one granddaughter, Rachel.
Survivors are his loving wife, Margaret of Lenox; his children, Barbara Osiecki and husband Edward of Golden, Colo., Lorraine Helm and husband Fred of Lenox, Iowa, and Leland Wilson and wife Kay of Hamilton, Mont.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Perry, Teresa and Rachel Stevenson and Patrick, Beverly and Emily Osiecki, all of Denver, Colo,; Peter Osiecki of Golden, Colo., Scott and Dina Helm, both of Lenox, Douglas Helm of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Hazel Wilson and husband John of Alva, Okla.; and Keithie Glazebrook and husband Earl of Garden Grove, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Lula Wilson of Osceola and Ruth Wilson of Grimes, Iowa, and several.
Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church in Lenox, Iowa, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Jack Cutbirth officiating. Interment was in West Fairview Cemetery, Lenox, Iowa.
Music was provided by Leta Crowell, organist, and Shirley Riley and Karen Shawler, vocalists. Casket bearers were Doug and Scott Helm, Robert Watson, Peter and Patrick Osiecki and Perry Stevenson.
