Wilber King, son of Ross and Caroline Kendrick King, was born Aug. 29, 1913, at Iveyville, Iowa, and passed away March 25, 1985, at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Neb., following a long illness, at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 26 days.
He was united in marriage Nov. 8, 1947, with Ruby A. Piercy at Maryville, Mo.
Wilber lived most of his lifetime in Taylor and Adams County, Iowa. He was a farmer and carpenter He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; a son. Carl E. King of Council Bluffs; a daughter, Judy Jo Ray of Lenox; three grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ronald (Wilma) Kester of Prescott; three brothers, Cliff and wife Neva of Villisca, Cleave and wife Nellie of Loveland, Colorado and Delbert and wife Kathy of Clarinda, Iowa.
Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant brother; a brother, Delmar; and two grandchildren, Melody Jean and Eric Eugene.
Funeral services were held at the Goodwin-Lindsay Funeral Home in Corning March 28 at 1:30 p.m. with Joe Cook officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Corning.
Music was provided by Erma Fuller, organist, and Lee West, vocalist. Casket bearers were Roy Krauth, David Krauth, Keith Hadley, Ray McCuen, LeRoy McCuen and John Moore.
