FATAL ACCIDENT
The Eight Year Old Son of O. D. Bunting Run Over By A Loaded Wagon
INJURED INTERNALLY
He Lived But a Few Minutes After the Accident-Fell From the Wagon and the Rear Wheels Passed Over the Boy's Body
Harvey R Bunting, the eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville D. Bunting, who live six and a half miles northeast of Corning was almost instantly killed last Thursday afternoon. Mr. Bunting was having some barley threshed a little over a mile from his house and was hauling the grain to his place. The lad had accompanied him and they had started on their way home, the father being at the rear of the wagon and the boy in front. The later leaned over the side and lost his balance and fell out and the real wheel passed over him. Apparently he was little hurt, for he jumped up and climbed upon the wagon saying, "I'm not hurt, papa." Almost immediately, however, he complained of feeling sick and his appearance was such that his father stopped and carried him into Bruce Gossard's house, where he died less than half an hour after the accident occurred. The wheel had passed over the middle of his body and his internal injuries were necessarily fatal. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the First Baptist Church near Mt. Etna and interment was made in the Church Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. G. A. Bryant of this city. The victim of the accident was a bright little fellow and his loss is a terrible blow to his parents. They have the sympathy of the whole community in their sorrow.
