Pearl Jesse Bunting was born September 20, 1885 to Orville D. and Margaret Lee Bunting on a farm near Corning and departed this life June 6, 1963 at the Rosary Hospital following a stroke suffered ten days ago.
He spent his entire life farming in Adams county. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and later transferred to the Corning First Baptist Church.
On May 16, 1911, he was united in marriage to Nellie Lawrence, who survives and to this union two children were born, Kenneth C. and Rowena (Mrs. William Gearheart) both of Corning. Other survivors include: Wilma Bunting, daughter-in-law; William Gearheart, son-in-law; 4 grandchildren, Ronzid Bunting, Phillip Gearheart; Mrs. Jack Kretzinger and Mrs. Duane Young; 3 great-grandchildren, Bruce, Brenda, and Scott Young, Mona Jo and Danny Kretzinger.
Brothers and sister surviving are Mrs. Carrie Richards of Greenfield, Mrs. Walker Cooper of Creston, Mrs. Orville Bradley, and Orville Bunting, Corning. One brother, Ernie of Great Falls, Montana.
Services were conducted Saturday, June 8, 1963, at 10:00 a.m. from the Roland Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Peterson officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Jim Beaty and Mrs. Dick Cook. Pallbearers were Clifford Bradley, Vern Richards, Paul Bauer, Frank Davis, Morris McPherren, and Vern Wilmarth. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Paul Bauer and Mrs. Vern Richards. Interment was in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
