Zephia May Tucker, daughter of George J. and Sophronia Shryack, was born July 15, 1881, at Warrensburg, Missouri, and died December 14, 1867 at Ottumwa. Iowa.
At the age of three years, she came with her family to the area of Brooks, where she attended school and grew to young womanhood.
On February 24, 1804, she wa married to Clarence O. Tucker, and the new home was made southwest ot Brooks, in the Mt. Zlon community. Here the home was blessed with children, was a part of the church life; she entered into all activities of life together with neighbors and friends; She was a member of the Mt. Zlon. Presbyterian church for 62 years.
In 1842 they moved to Corning. Mr. Tucker died five years later on April 26, 1947. Mrs. Tucker continued to life in Corning until 1955, when she moved to Ottumwa. She lived with her son Carl for a year and then entered a nursing home in 1956, where the remainder of her life was spent.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Parrott, three sons Carl of Ottumwa, Glen of Prescott, and Ora of Kent; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held in the Roland Funeral Home in Corning, Tuesday afternoon, December 17th at 1957 at 2:30 o'clock. Music was by Mrs. Harry Thompson, accompanied by Mrs. Floyd Walter.
Rev. W. H. Sinning was in charge of services.
Pall bearers were Ivan Heaton, Rolly spring, Robert Hanzie, Albert Hedinger, George Hamman, and Joe Walter.
Interment was in Methodist Grove Cemetery.
