Corinna McClelland, daughter of Rev. William Carroll McClelland and Mary Ann Schafroth was born November 15, 1889 at the farm home southwest of Brooks, Adams County, Iowa, and passed away July 24, 1979 at Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 9 days.
She was married to Chas. N. Kennedy of Nodaway in 1925, who passed away in 1947. In 1957, she was married to Howard M. Simpson of Riverside, California. who passed away in 1964.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Albert, Earl. Robert and Roy McClelland.
Survivors include a brother, Fred McClelland of Mt. Ayr and a sister, Marie McAlpin of Corning; one step-son, George Simpson of Tulsa. Oklahoma and a step-daughter, Martha Upson of La Mesa, California, besides several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She attended the Corning schools and Parsons College Conservatory of Music at Fairfield. She taught public school music and gave piano and voice lessons for several years. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Corning where services were conducted Friday afternoon, with Rev. Wikon Sinning officiating. Burial was in Methodist Grove Cemetery.
Organ music was furnished by Dorothy Cook. Pallbearers were George McAlpin, Howard Spring, David Spring, Mick McClelland, Art McClelland
and Austin McClelland.
