Darlene Harlow McGrath, 69, was born in Adams County, Iowa, February 22,1920, and died in a Mesa., Arizona, care center November 22, 1989. She was the daughter of Thelbert and Ruby Lawrence Harlow. She attended Brooks grade school and graduated from Corning High School with the class of 1937. She taught in the Adams County rural schools for six years.
She married J.H. McGrath of Corning on August 26, 1945. The lived in several towns in Iowa and Illinois where her husband taught school They retired in the summer of 1986 in Chandler, Arizona. She is survived by her husband and two children, Michael and Paula of Glenview, Illinois, Stephanie of Wheaton, Illinois; two grandchildren and one sister, Doris Davis, and husband, Frank, of Corning. Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Bueler Mortuary in Chandler, Arizona. The body was cremated.
