Clarence Campbell Everett, son of Charles G. and Carrie E. Campbell Everett, was born Sept. 6, 1908, and passed away May 7, 1986, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 29. days. -
He, was born on a farm east of Nodaway. At the age of five the family moved to an adjoining farm where he spent the rest of his life.
On April 3,1947, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Rea. One daughter, Carolyn, was born to this union. Clarence attended the Nodaway school and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Nodaway and a member of the Iroquois Lodge No. 590, A.F. & A.M. of Nodaway. He was in the service of his country in World War II in the Army Air Corps. As a young man he loved to play the trombone and played in the Nodaway, Villisca and Corning town bands, and in a small dance band. He loved life and people.
Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers, Albert, Harold, Frank, Smith, Charles and James and by two sisters, Mattie and Florence Brown.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Carolyn; a brother, Paul; and several nieces and nephews and many friend's.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Nodaway May 9 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Wainwright officiating. Burial was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
Music was furnished by Hartford Cooper, soloist and Mrs. Hartford Cooper, accompanist. Flower bearers were Mrs. Ruth Goldsmith and Mrs. Lynn Lucas. Mrs. Marvin Baldwin was at the register. Ushers were Marvin Baldwin and Marion Hendrickson. Casket bearers were Lyle Frey, Franklin Walter. Earl Goldsmith, Merlin Carlson, Jim Williams and Clifford Palmer.
Masonic graveside services were conducted by Iroquois Lodge No. 590, A.F. & A.M., Nodaway. The presentation of the flag was by the Nodaway American Legion,
