Near Villisca, Iowa, on Wednesday, August 21, 1895, John Patterson, the father of Mrs. S. Neil, formerly of Douglas Township, at the residence of the latter, aged 77 years, 6 months, and 9 days. Father Patterson was held in high esteem by the large concourse of people that gathered at the funeral, was conducted by the writer assisted by Rev. W. B. Redburn of the M. E. Church. May they meet again in the land where they never say goodbye. A.Y.C.
