Bassett, Earl –
Earl Bassett, 64, of Corning, died Friday at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston after suffering a heart attack. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. Laurence Murphy of the Federated Church officiated. Burial was in Walnut Grove cemetery.

Mr. Bassett was employed as a feed and mineral salesman.

Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Marieta VanPelt of Cheyenne, Wyo., a son Merrill Basset of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Badgett of Corning, and Stella Grecian of Eureka, Calif., and three brothers, Roy Bassett of Martinez, Calif., Clarence Bassett of Corning and Orville Bassett of Lenox.
