The last few years she had woven more than 1,000 rugs on a
hand loom.

She was a former school teacher and wife of a retired minister.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Salem Church of the Brethren by Rev W. H. Brower of South English. Burial was at Salem.
Obituary
Nora Magnolia Alexander, daughter of John and Hannah Mincer Alexander, was born on June 11, 1888 at Pontusic, Ill. When a small child she moved with her parents to a farm near New Sharon, Iowa, then to Knoxville, living there during her early school days. Later the family moved to Monroe, Iowa where she completed her high
school education, and taught school until her marriage on June 28, 1911 to Charles A. Colyn.

She moved with her husband to a farm near Derby, Iowa, living there until 1913 when they relocated on a farm near Osceola to assume pastoral duties at the Church of the Brethren. During
this time, three children were born: Olive Miriam, Charles Junior, and John Leonard. In 1924 the family moved to a farm near Leon, where they served the Franklin Church of the Brethen. While there, the fourth child, David Alexander blessed their home. After serving this church for five years, the family moved to a farm near Lenox, to assume the pastorate of the Salem Church of the Brethen.

In 1939 the family moved to the town of Lenox and have since resided there. Feeling the need to help during the shortage of teachers during the war she again started teaching rural school in 1943, and continued to do so for four years.

In her early life, Mr. Colyn made her confession and was baptized into the Church of the Brethren at Prairie City, Iowa. Her life has been a busy, active one, constantly serving her Maker at all times. She never saw a need without yielding a helping hand. After her suffering for many years, she was called to her heavenly home on the evening of Feb. 13, 1958 at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 2 days.

She will be greatly missed by the family, her husband Charles, her four children, her ten grandchildren and other relatives plus a host of friends.

Those of the immediate family who came from a distance to attend the funeral were the daughter, Olive Miriam Ranck and son Tommy from Portland, Ore., and the three sons, Charles Jr and John Leonard and their families, from McPherson, Kan., and David Alexander from Harper, Kansas.
