Info on William STRANTZ, Sr. (b. abt 1841), Wife - Mary MACE. Wm. Sr. + Children resided in Fontanelle, Adair Co. in 1885. Wm. Sr. + Mary born in Germany? Romania? German speaking. Believed to have immigrated to Iowa from Germany in 1884 and that Mary was deceased. Children: Adam (b. abt 1866); John (b. abt. 1868); Barbara (b. abt 1870); William, Jr. (b. June 9, 1873-4); George (b. abt 1877); Jacob (b. abt. 1879). Mary MACE? (MAINZ?) died before 1885. Children may have been born in Germany or Romania. Family moved to St. Louis, MO before 1900. Allegedly Wm. Sr. was a tailor.
Would appreciate any info re history of this area, township, etc.
