I'm looking for information on an Evan Evans born in Ohio, married Mary Cress, and first lived in Linn County, Iowa and later in Adair County. His daugthers were Margaret who married Oliver Perry and them moved to California. Susan Alma who married G.W. Snively and moved to California. Sarah who first married John Cramer, who died around 1896,and she then married W. S. Beaman. Emma who married a George West and lived awhile in Adair County, then moved to Illinois and then moved back. I know that Sarah had two children by John, Clarence Cramer and Mary Cramer. Mary married an Albert Stuva. I know per Emma's obit that she lived with Clarence and his family until he died and then she went to a rest home. Sarah died around 1925 and is buried in Mt Zion Cemetery in Adams County next to I'm guessing is her mother Mary E. Evans, w/o E.Evans. I have looked and looked for Evan Evans and can't find a date of death or place of burial. He may have died sometime between 1900 and 1905, as he wasn't in the 1905 census. He doesn't seem to be listed as being buried in Mt. Zion and I haven't found him in Adair County. I know he was in the civil war. and he was born around 1831 in Ohio. I guessing he is part the Evans family that seems to go to Linn County, from Holmes County, Ohio and was possibley the son of Evan Evans. There were two brothers out of Holmes County, Ohio (Evan and Samuel) that had family In Linn County, Benton County, Adams County,Iowa, that I know. Some staying and some moving on to Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado.
I've gotten what could be found from the Adair County Anquestors. Thanks for any help.
Rhonda
