Dale E.Piper, son of Elmer A.and Nellie M.Piper was born in Grove Township, Adair County on April 2, 1915.
He received his education in the Greenfield schools, graduating with the class of 1933. He received his B.A.Degree in Elementry Education from Upper Iowa University at Fayette, Iowa. He served his country in the Armed Forces in the European Theater during WW2.
He was united in marriage to Elinor Kuehl on Mar.17,1947. He farmed in Adair County for 10 years.
Later he taught in the public schools at Panora,Evansdale and Waterloo, Iowa. He was active in the service of the Graves United Methodist Church in Waterloo and was a member of the Hebron Methodist Church of Orient, Iowa.
Those left to mourn his death are his wife Elinor of Waterloo, his brother Clyde and sister Mrs. Ruby Soderberg both of Greenfield; many relatives and friends, and 3 foster children in India-2 girls and a boy. The boy is in a deaf and dumb school at Madras, the girls teenagers almost ready for college, also an elementry school age boy at San Nicklos in Argentina.
He was a member of the Evansdale Kiwanis Club and the VFW of Creston, Iowa.
