Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon April 22 from the Fontanelle Methodist Church for Harvey McCartney, 85, who passed away last Sunday morning at the home of his daughter Mr. & Mrs. Arnold Krause in Casey, after a short illness. The Rev. Bruce Eshelman pastor of the Fontanelle Church, officiated at the service.
Two songs, "Beyond The Sunset" & "There's No Disappointment In Heaven", were sung by Mrs. Vernon Joint of Casey & Mrs. Claude Sivadge of Fontanelle. Mrs.Otis Bailey served as organist.
Burial was made in the Fontanelle Cemetery with Earl Fritz, Andy Jacobson, Edgar Frank, Kenneth Frank, Ottmar Gruber, & Leo Foster serving as the casketbearers. The beautiful floral offering was in charge of Mrs. Earl Fritz & Mr. & Mrs. Murl Kinney. A Memorial Fund was left to the Church.
Immediate survivors are his 5 children: Glen A.McCartney of Fontanelle; J.Dale McCartney of Bagley; Lois Irene [Mrs.Arnold Krause] & Velma Maxine [Mrs. Fred Smith] both of Casey & Ruth Marian [Mrs. Glen Rohner] of Fontanelle.
Relatives from a distance attending the services were Mr. & Mrs. Willard McCartney, & Billy of Omaha; Mr. & Mrs. George Stanzel & Mr. & Mrs. Orval Caywood of Des Moines; Mrs. Elsie Huff & Mrs. Fenner Osborn of Winterset; Mr. & Mrs. Walter Campfield, Mr. & Mrs. Virgil Cassidy & Sharon of Brookfield, Mo.
