Doris Jeanne Bell,71, passed away July 25, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.
Doris Jeanne was born March 9,1933 in Adair County to Leo & Imo [Clemmensen] Myers.
She was baptized & confirmed at St.Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic. She attended country school, Atlantic High School & the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She was employed by Savory & DeKay Law Firm in Atlantic, Minneapolis Moline in Omaha, a veterinary lab in Ames, & at St.Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic where she was a member.
On Dec.18,1954 she was united in marriage to John P.Bell at St.Paul's Lutheran Church. They farmed east of Atlantic for 47 years. During this time, she was a leader of the Glad Girls of Grove 4-H Club for 20 years. Doris truly lived for her family, friends & community.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, John P.Bell of Atlantic; her children Tami & Bill Nooning of Westminister, Colorado; Joni & Don Johnson of Aurora, Colorado; Jim & Barb Bell of Atlantic; Mike Bell of Auburn, Washington; Lisa & Glen Weaver of Lafayette, Colorado; Tressa & Tim Stohs of Northglenn, Colorado; 16 grandchildren; brother & wife Dale & Sheryl Myers of Atlantic; sister & husband Charlotte & Marvin Behrens of Atlantic; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services for Doris will be conducted by the Rev.Dennis Meyer at 2p.m. on Thursday July 29 at St.Paul's Lutheran Church.
Interment will be at Wiota Cemetery following services.
The family will meet friends at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic 6-8p.m. Wednesday evening.
Memorials may be made to St.Paul's Lutheran Church or the Alzheimers Association.
