Alberta L.Foster, 73, passed away at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield on Tuesday Feb.22,2005.
She was born May 12,1931, in Adair County, daughter of Henry and Gertrude [Schrader] Weber.
Alberta was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield and was a very active lifetime member of that Church.
She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1949.
Alberta was united in marriage to Lyle Foster and 2 sons, Timothy and Jon, were born to them.
She lived her entire life in Greenfield. She was known as the voice of "Greenfield and Adair County News." Alberta was a very effective advocate for the community. Her tireless involvement with numerious organizations throughout the years resulted in countless accomplishments that will benefit the local area for many years and serve as a memorial to her efforts. She had a great love for her family and for Greenfield and Adair County.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son John and her brother Dale.
She is survived by son Tim and wife Kathy and their children Adam and Alex; daughter-in-law Marisa Pickrell and husband Scott; Sam Foster and fiancee Jessica Walker; great-grandchildren Keely Pickrell Elle Jorgensen; sisters Evelyn Erbes and Juanita Wood all of Greenfield; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Feb.25, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield with the Rev.Keith Schweitzer officiating.
Music tributes were by organist Zelda Paullin, vocalists Wayne Handley and Ruth Means and trumpeter Dale Wood.
Pallbearers were Jack Brown, K.J.Sickels, Wayne Newell, Bill Schildberg, Dennis Kreis, Dick Schneider, Randy Weller and Dennis Davis.
The floral committee included Joan Newell, Dar Marshall, Rose Ann Moore and Carol Woosley.
Interment was in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Professional services were provided by Steen Funeral Homes.
