Vernon J. Reis, 86, died Sept.3,2003, in Johnston.
He was born March 13,1917, in rural Lee Township. He was one of 10 children of George and Kathryn Reis.
He grew up on the family farm and attended Greenfield High School.
On May 6,1939, Vernon married Theresa Corrine Robinson. They were blessed with 3 children.
Vernon retired from Mid-American Dairymen Inc., in 1982. He enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing, and hunting. He rarely missed grandchildren's dance recitals and baseball games and loved the time he spent with family and friends.
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Theresa.
He is survived by his children Sharon Reis, Sheryl Banning and Donnie Reis; grandchildren Marc and Mike Strong; Kristina, David and Erik Banning, Sean, Chad and Mike Reis; great-grandchildren Molly, Mallory, Micah, David and Theresa Strong and Jacob Reis; twin brother LeVern Reis; brothers Frank and Bill Reis; sister Isabelle Read.
