Joy "Hap" Blackmer 75, died Dec.15,2003 in Ocala, Fla. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 Saturday morning July 17 at Oakwood Cemetery in Casey with arrangements by Mullen Funeral Home.
Luncheon and family reunion will be at St.John's Lutheran Church in Casey at 1 p.m.
Joy Blackmer was born Nov.22,1928 in St.Louis, Mo., thedaughter of John and Goldie Corbett Crawford.
She was married July 27,1948 to William H.Blackmer and resided for many years in Vinton.
She devoted most of her time to raising her 7 children and taking care of the household. She was active in Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Easter Seals. When her husband retired they moved to Ocala, Fla. where she developed an interest in photography and collecting seashells.
She was preceded in death by a son Sidney C.Blackmer and a brother Dick Crawford.
Survivors include her husband William H.Blackmer; sons William H.Blackmer Jr.of Vacaville,Calif., Derrick E.Blackmer of Waterloo, Jeffery S. Blackmer of Kansas City, Mo.,daughters Kathryn M.Blackmer of LeMesa, Calif., Normagene K.Gregory of Aurora, Ill., Jacquelyn L.Beri of Casper, Wyo., Sister Darlene Doty of Des Moines; brother Joe Crawford of Valley Center, Calif.; half-sister Ruby M.Crawford of Raymondville, Mo.; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
