Harold E. "Skip" Brown 70, formerly of Ft.Dodge, died Saturday July 31,2004 at the Fontanelle Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday Aug.5, atthe Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Ft. Dodge.
Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Military honors will be conduted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1856.
Harold was born May 28,1934 the son of Harold E. and Nadine [Echelberger] Brown in Ft.Dodge.
He graduated with the Ft.Dodge Senior High School Class of 1952.
Later that year, Skip was united in marriage to Shirley Simpson. In 1956 he was married to Arlene Krantz and in 1983 was united in marriage to Leona Darling who died a short year later.
Skip honorably served his country in the United States Army.
Skip lived most of his life in the Ft.Dodge area, moving to Bridgewater in March 2004 to make his home with his son Bruce Brown and family. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, listening to country music, wathing the Chicago Cubs and relaxing while watching the NASCAR races. He also spent many hours enjoying his large garden and working in the yard before moving to town. Skip always looked forward to hearing his son's band perform.
Mr.Brown was preceded in death by his parents; 3 wives; daughter Rachel Brown and brother Dennis Brown.
Those thankful for having shared in Skip's life include his children Bruce and wife Rhonda Brown of Bridgewater; Kevin Brown of Fresno, Calif.,Angela Brown of Fresno,Calif.,and Paula and husband Randy Jameson of Bridgewater; 2 brothers John and Bill Brown of Ft.Dodge; 1 sister Lynda and husband Joe Rupp of Hotsprings Village, Ark.; 1 sister-in-law Kay Brown of Ft.Dodge; 4 grandchildren Erin and Bethany Thompson and Luther and Logan Brown; and 1 great- granddaughter Shayla Reed.
