Blanche Reed Vana died June 29,1984 at the Marshalltown Area Community Hospital. She was born Sept.5,1901 in Greenfield, the daughter of Robert and Jennie Reed. Mrs. Vana resided at the Bethesda Care Center in Marshalltown since 1976 due to poor health. She married Frank Vana Jr. in Montour April 12,1934 and the couple resided there. Their son Frederick, died in 1947 and her husband in 1956.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Montour and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Graveside rites were held at the greenfield Cemetery June 30, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Wayne Norris officiating.

Pallbearers were nephews of Mrs.Vana.

She is survived by her sister, Myrtle Jones who resides at Greenfield Manor, also nieces and nephews.

Out-of-town relatives who attended the services came from Marshalltown; Maryville,Mo.; Kansas City, Mo.; Chicago and Creston.

The Henderson Funeral Home in Toledo, Iowa had charge of the arrangements.
