Hilda Louise Trent, 82, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, Oct.19,2002, at Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle.
Hilda was born March 27,1920, to John Willis and Obera Beatrice [Cue] Welch in Menlo.
She was raised and educated in the Menlo and Adair area.
On Aug.22,1953, she was united in marriage to Dwight L.Trent in Adel. They lived in Dallas, Guthrie, and Adair Counties. She had been living in Greenfield recently.
Hilda was a homemaker. She loved baking, cooking, knitting, crocheting, flowers and especially being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, she enjoyed being with her brother and his wife, Marv and Helen Welch, who were always there when she needed something.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dwight; son LaVerne Trent; grandson Todd Baudler.
She is survived by 2 brothers Marvin Welch of Menlo and Gaylord Welch of Golden, Mo.; 1 sister Iva Mae Howard of Golden, Mo.; 3 daughters, Norma Baudler of Greenfield, Pat Gette of Seaside, Ore.; and Judy Jnutsen of Exira; 1 son, Dale Petersen of Winter Haven, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Hilda Trent will be held on Friday, Oct.25, at 1:30 p.m. in the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield with Chaplin Tracy Edwards officiating.
Marcy Welch, organist, will provide musical selections "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Baudler, David Gette, Trever Knutsen, Lori Erickson, Darrick Knutson, Chris Gette, Dawn Trent, Erick Knutson, Mike Gette, Cody Trent and Regina Padgett.
Floral committee will be Raymond and Iva Mae Howard and George and Cheryl Peterson.
Friends may visit Friday morning from 9 a.m. until service time.
Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery at Menlo.
