Mrs Grace Brisler life-long resident of the Massena community passed away at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday evening Jan.16,1968 at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield following a long illness.
Mrs. Brisler was born on a farm near Massena on July 29,1879 the daughter of William and Henrietta Greenwaldt. She was married to Dave Brisler on Feb. 8,1899. To this union 2 children were born a daughter Pearl and a son Wray.
Grace had reached the age of 88 years, 5 months and 17 days. She was preceded in death by her husband Dave, her daughter-in-law Hazel and a grandson Clair; a son-in-law Elwin Murray; her parents; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
She is survived by her daughter Pearl Murray; son Wray Brisler; 3 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; neighbors and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday Jan.19,1968 at 1:30 p.m. at the Massena Methodist Church Massena, Iowa with Rev.Edward Tan officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Gerald Wollenhaupt soloist who sang "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by Mrs.Frances Peel. The floral committee were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Follmann and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hall. Pallbearers were Ronald Murray, Elmer Meyer, Richard Reynek, Richard Murray, Dean Meyer and Dick Reynek grandsons and great grandsons of the deceased. Interment was in the Massena Center Cemetery near Massena, Iowa.
