Minnie Josephine Jeffryes daughter of Frederick and Ellen Jeffryes was born north of Bridgewater, Iowa and departed this life Saturday afternoon Oct.11,1958 at a nursing home in Creston where she had been a patient for several months. Her life span was 85 years, 8 months and 12 days.

When a child of 10 years she moved with her parents to a farm northwest of Fontanelle and this was her home until her marriage to Thomas Perry Brown on March 6,1892.

Following their marriage the couple spent 6 years neatr Sharon Springs, Kansas and then moved back to Iowa where she resided the remaining years of her life moving to Fontanelle in the last years.

Four of the 5 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Brown survive their parents. They are Nelson of Grand River, Iowa; Mrs. Vera Harris of Adair, Iowa; Mrs. Bessie Speed of Fontanelle, Iowa; and Mrs. Lorraine Johnston of Salem, Oregon. Mr. Brown passed away in 1951 and a son Harold in 1954.

Other survivors are 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother Roy Jeffryes of Ft. Dodge, Iowa and a host of nieces and nephews.
