Craig Cullen
Greenfield

Craig E. "Cowboy" Cullen, 53, passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 20, 2013, after an unexplained staph infection. He was born on July 29, 1959, in Greenfield, IA, to Dick and Elnora Cullen.

Craig had a passion for the outdoors and horses. He was always the life of the party. He always tried to put others ahead of himself and do whatever he could to help someone out. Craig was never flashy or had the need to show off, unless of course it was a roping competition. He loved team roping as a sport and a fun hobby. Some ropers go their entire lives trying to win a buckle. Craig won two at one rodeo. Not only were the belts large, his head in return got a bit larger as well.

After graduating from Greenfield High School, Craig started his career working for the Co-op for 16 years. He then decided to turn a new corner of his life and go on his own. In 1993, Cullen Trucking was established and flourished for the next ten years until he decided to sell. From there, he opened Cullen Tree Management which he still did today.

Those left to cherish Craig's memory are his son and daughter in-law, Travis and Carolyn Cullen; daughter and fiancé, Tiffany Renaud and Larry Holloway; grandsons, Kaiden Renaud, and Casen Cullen; mother, Elnora Cullen; brothers, Randy and Steven Cullen; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dick and sister, Cindy.

A "Gathering of Remembrance" will be held Friday, March 1 in the 4-H building at the Adair County Fairgrounds from 4 to 8 p.m. Come talk about the good times we were privileged enough to spend with Cowboy, at his final rodeo on Earth.

A private family burial will happen at a later date. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa 28 Feb 2013.
