Mrs. Tencie Herrick was born to Mr. and Mrs. O. B. James on September 5, 1896 in Creston and passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle on July 27, 1979.

She was married October 25, 1919 to William C. Hogueison and became the mother of his six small children, whom she dearly loved and they lived much of their lifetime in and around Audubon, Adair, and Fontanelle. Mr. Hogueison passed away in 1951. On July 26, 1952, Tencie was married to Clarence Herrick and they spent their life together in and around the Greenfield Community.

She was of a very happy nature and gave so much of herself to others.

Her last few months surroundings at the Good Samaritan Center became her life, her haven, where she showed her love for those about her.

On May 11, 1973, she was baptized and added to the Church of Christ in Menlo.

She was a member of the Fontanelle W. R. C. and received her 50 year Rebekah pin several years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, her husbands, one daughter and two stepsons.

She is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Bess Swipson of Lincoln, Neb.; Mrs. Zettie Clayton of Boise, Idaho and Josephine Petersen of Fontanelle; two brothers, Abie James of Boise, Idaho and Rex James of Creston, four children of Mr. Hogueison, six children of Clarence Herrick, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, two sisters in Iowa, two daughters-in-law. nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tencie Herrick were held Tuesday Morning, July 31 at the Bickford-Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield with H. K. Ballard officiating, Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bickford, vocalists and Mrs. Alice Hogan organist. Hymns sung were "How Great Thou Art" and "Going Down the Valley".

Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Robert Henry and William Snell, Dennis, John, Robert, and William Hogueison. Burial was in the Arlington Heights Cemetery at Audubon, Iowa.
