Death of Walter Schwab

The funeral for Walter H. Schwab, 90, was held Jan. 26 at Poole-Larson Funeral home in Eugene, Ore. He passed away Jan. 23, (1998) from age related causes.

Walter was born Sept. 15, 1907 in Greenfield to L. A. and Gertrude (Deuel) Schwab, the second of seven children.

He worked for several years in N. D. where he met his future wife Doris Martinson of Leal, N. D. They were married in Greenfield on Feb. 11, 1939. Shortly thereafter they moved to California where he was a parts inspector for North America Aviator for many years. They resided in Compton, Calif., before retiring to Springfield, Ore. Walt's hobbies were camping, traveling and fishing.

Survivors his devoted wife, Doris; son David (wife Diane) of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; daughter, Judy (husband Charles (Chuck) Huss of Oak Harbor, Wash.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Swisher of Eugene, Ore. and Wilma (Adkins) Elliott of Greenfield, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ruth Myers of California; brothers Hugh of Des Moines, IA; Bud (Floyd) of Winterset, IA; Dick of Valley City, ND.

Private burial was held in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Eugene, Ore.
