Mrs. Susan Rusia (Main) Elliott

Susan Rusia (Main) Elliott was born at Searsboro, Poweshiek Co., Iowa, Sept. 25, 1879, one of thirteen children to William and Martha Firebaugh Main.

On July 4th of this year, she entered the Greenfield Rest Home and passed away suddenly shortly after noon on Monday, July 11, 1966.

When Rusia, as she was known by her friends, was but a girl, her family moved to Adair County, where she grew to manhood, and about the year 1896, she was united in marriage with John Kinney, at Guthrie Center, Iowa. Three sons were born to this union, one of whom survives her.

On Sept. 20, 1917 she was united in marriage with George W. Elliott, the ceremony taking place at Montezuma, county seat of her native county.

In the spring of 1931, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott moved to Adair county settling in Greenfield, where they have made their home until her passing.

Besides her devoted husband George, she is survived by one son Floyd W. Kinney, of Ventura, Calif. Also three brothers, Bruce Main, of Casey; Zennie, of Greenfield; and Willis, of Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. Della Knight, of Woodward, Okla.

Her parents, two sons, five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
