RUTH MARIE LOVELL, Indianola

Services for Ruth Marie (Hoadley) Lovell, 85, who passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 will be held 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Ruth was born on November 10, 1926 in Greenfield, IA to Floyd and Stella Hoadley. She was one of nine children. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1943 where she was class Valedictorian. During WWII she attended Nurse’s Training at Methodist Hospital where she earned a Registered Nurse Degree.

She spent several years working as an RN at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Methodist Hospital and doing Hospice care.

In 1948 she and Clifford Max Lovell were united in marriage in Chillicothe, MO. To this union four children were born, Jerry Lynne Lovell of Indianola, Kelly Dean Lovell of Des Moines, Vicki Ann Reeves of Indianola and Kimberly Kay Lovell of Indianola.

Ruth enjoyed singing and playing the keyboard, was an avid gardener and loved to travel. She visited nearly every state in the union. She even had the opportunities to make trips to Ireland, Scotland and England.

She was preceded in death, in January of this year, by her husband Max. Ruth is survived by her children, Jerry Lynne, Kelly Dean, Vicki Ann and Kimberly Kay; eight grandchildren, Jason Lovell, Jeffrey Lovell, Joshua Lovell, Eric Lovell, Gwen Kollath, Ryan Lovell, Kacy Reeves and Dustin Lovell; ten great-grandchildren, Faith and Hailey Lovell, Stella, Mary and Ellis Lovell, Claire Kollath, Addyson Franc, Blake Lovell, Molly and Maura Ballagh; sisters Bobbie Ehrenfried, Sara Kramer and brother Dick Hoadley.
