“ Braxton Woodson Passes Away. After many months of suffering with cancer of th face Braxton Woodson and old and reliable citizen of this county passed away at his home about eight miles north of Greenfield on Sunday November 10 at 2:30 A. M. Mr. Woodson has always been regarded as a worthy citizen and good neighbor, reliable in all his transactions and enjoying the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. For some time he has made his home with his son-in-law and daughters Mr. and Mrs. Carl Butler. Until of late his suffering has been intense however, toward the last he did not realize his condition. Braxton Woodson was born in Monroe County, Missouri November 9, 1846 and died Nov. 10, 1912 he being exactly 66 years of age. He was married Arzelia Shearer October 10, 1865. He was the father of nine children seven of whom still live and all of whom were in attendance at the funeral. His wife and two children having passed away several years before him. Besides his children he leaves three brothers and one sister along with a host of friends mourn his loss. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home of Mr. Butler conducted by Rev. J. S. Young. Interment made at Grove Center cemetery attended by an unusually large number of friends and acquaintances."
