RITES HELD FOR MRS. G. H. STOKES

Iowa Falls Woman Formerly Lived Near Hampton; Born in England

IOWA FALLS, March 18. - The funeral services for Mrs. George H. Stokes, a resident of this section since 1892, were held at the Christian church yesterday, Mrs. L. H. Sours, the resident pastor, officiating. Mrs. Stokes was born in Spalding, England, Aug. 21, 1852. In May 1873, she was married to Mr. Stokes who died 11 years ago. Of the 11 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Stokes, seven survive, John W. of Decatur, Ill., Samuel B. of Hampton, Ernest H. of Des Moines, Martin L. of Mason City, George H., Mrs. Mary Hermanson and Mrs. Addie Brown of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Stokes came to America in 1883 and after a residence of nine years in Canada, located on a farm north of Hampton in 1892. In 1915 they moved to Bradford where they made their home until the death of Mr. Stokes. Since 1922 she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Addie Brown.
