Louis Chambers was born in New Jersey, March 27, 1828 and died near Brookings, S. D. Nov. 2. He was 88 years, 7 months and 5 days old.

In 1853, he was united in marriage to Mary Hollingsworth, who died in 1862. Four children were born to this union, Louis H., of Burlington, Iowa and Anna, who resides in Oklahoma. In 1865, he married Sarah Fox, who died Feb. 20, 1908. Three children were born to this union, Josephine of Middle River, Iowa, Richard, who died in infancy and Willis S., of Brookings, S. D.

Funeral services were held at Webster, conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis of Winterset on Saturday, November 6th.

Note: Burial was made in the Roberts cemetery, Adair county, Iowa.
