RUTH MORSE, ORIENT

Ruth Morse, 58, of Orient died Jan. 15, 2008, at her home.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 19, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Bart Shields officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mt. Ayr. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be sent to www.powersfh.com.

Ruth Morse was born Feb. 5, 1949, in Persia to Louis and Ruth (Spracklin) Ditzler and attended Persia Community Schools. On Oct. 11, 1986, she was united in marriage to Franklin LeRoy Morse in Redding. Ruth worked as a cook at the Sale Barn Cafe in Lamoni while living in Decatur County. She also resided in Adair and Union counties and was employed as a housekeeper at the Super 8 Motel and a cook at the Windrow restaurant in Creston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jonathan Taylor Flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Franklin, of Orient; two sons, Craig Ditzler of Afton and Richard Flowers of Lamoni; two daughters, Robin Neal of Decatur and Clara Flowers of Lamoni; six stepchildren, Christina Morse and John Morse, both of Macksburg, and Al Flowers, Donna Bond, Tony Flowers and Johnny Flowers; two sisters, Marge Carrigan of Persia and Rita Christensen of Logan; and 12 grandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren.
