In Memoriam

Died, in Grand River township, Adair county, March 26th, 1893, of heart failure, Mrs. Rosette Elkins, aged 66 years and 20 days.

Mrs. Elkins, although not in good health, was able to attend to her household cares until the last hour of her life. She had done her morning work, prepared to go to church and had read awhile when her husband suggested that she lie down for a little rest. She said a few words, when the heart ceased to beat and without a struggle or a groan she was in the presence of the King.

Her funeral was one of the largest ever attended in Grand River township. For twenty-seven years she had lived in that community, a kind neighbor, a consistent member of the Congregational church. She will be missed where there is sickness or trouble in any home. Always cheery and hopeful, she had a cordial greeting and a pleasant word for all, and few will be missed in the community as she will be. Always doing for others and fearing lest she should give occasion for anxiety or trouble to any.
