Died Saturday, Jan 10, 1891, of consumption, John Furman aged about seventy two years. Mr. Furman has long been a respected citizen of this place and will be missed and mourned by a large circle of friends.

Died at his home in Eureka township Adair(hard to read) Jan 10 1891 at 72 years. Deceased was born in Clarion Co, PA, and when quite young, united with the Baptist church; and during his life was a thorough worker for the Master. He came to Iowa about 20 years ago, and for a time lived in this county; but for a number of years past has been a resident of Adair Co. He enjoyed the esteem of a large circle of friends, who, with three daughters and four sons, mourn his death. Funeral occurred last Sabbath, the services being conducted by Rev. Lewis, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Lincoln Center Cemetery (Cass County, Iowa).
