Anton and Lois (Schwab) Lambi

Anton was born November 28, 1911, to Stephen and Anna Lambi. Lois was born October 22, 1914, to Oscar and Hannah (McFee) Schwab.

Anton and Lois (Schwab) Lambi were married June 7, 1940. They established a home in Greenfield and have lived there ever since.

Anton was a trucker for most of his life. For short periods he was employed by the State Highway Commission, ray a gas station, was employed by the city as a night watchman and worked several years as an employee of McVay Transfer Company. After his retirement he worked for Jensen Cement Company.

Lois was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College and taught three years at Richland Consolidated High School. After her marriage she was a substitute teacher in the Greenfield schools for 30 years. She also worked for the Adair County Fair Board as entry secretary for many years. Lois was a member of the Extension Board, Library Board and Greenfield Township clerk for several years.

Anton and Lois are the parents of two children, LuAnn, born October 28, 1941, and Jon, born March 26, 1945. Both children were graduates of Greenfield High School. LuAnn attended Omaha Commercial Extension College after graduation and then joined the Waves. She was married to Dwaine Rowe July 1, 1961. They now live in California. Jon, attended college at Iowa State University and was a member of the Cyclone football team. He went to Vietnam and served three years in the Army. He now lives in southern Arkansas where he manages a farm.

Anton and Lois have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
