Grant Shucks Note Wedding Aniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant Shuck celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at an open house at the Legion hall Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5. A dinner for 76 relatives and friends was served at noon. Around 175 called during the afternoon to extend their congratulations.

The serving table was laid with a Swedish lace cloth over gold and centered with a large six-tiered cake. The cake, topped with a gold number "50" and white roses and lilies-of-the-valley, was decorated throughout with small white bells edged in gold, white roses and gold leaves. The cake was baked and presented to the honored couple by Mrs. Shuck's sister, Mrs. Virgil Matson of Kerrick, Minn. It was flanked on either side by candelabra.

Pouring at the reception was Mrs. A. L. Janss of Belle Plaine and Mrs. Ralph Mathes of Bruno, Minn. Cutting the cake were Mrs. Ray Fry of Dysart, and Mrs. Kenneth Rathjen of Marengo. In charge of the guest book and gifts were Mr. and Mrs. Hepburn Hentrick of Cedar Rapids and Cindy King of Keystone.

A program was presented in their honor during the afternoon which included songs by Sandra Seuss and Mary Sando of Silver Bay, Minn.; and a mock wedding with Donald Shuck the bride; Harold Vaidnas of Silver Bay, the bridegroom; Audrey Seuss, Silver Bay, the minister; Vera Matthes, Bruno, the bridesmaid; Mrs. Harold Vaidnas of Silver Bay, bestman, and Don Seuss, Silver Bay, flower girl. Original poems in the couple's honor were also read.

Attending the anniversary were Mrs. Shuck's brother, Jack Clewitt of North Hollywood, Calif.; her sister and family, Mrs. Virgil Matson of Kerrick, Minn.; also a host of other friends and relatives from Jackson, Mich., Omaha, Neb., Stanwood, Cedar Rapids, Marion, Dysart, Marengo, Ladora, Lincoln, Belle Plaine, Gladbrook, Waterloo, Buckingham, Norway, Luzerne, Keystone, LaPorte, Perry, Van Horne and Newhall.
