Pretty Wedding Is Solemnized.
Blairstown, July 16 —(Special.)— At the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. T. F Sholes, at 1312 First Ave, East, Cedar Rapids, occurred the marriage of Miss Edna Ruby Burdicker and Corporal Arthur Shores, at 8 p. m., July 9, 1919, in the presence of a few relatives and intimate friends.
The decorations were pink, the bride wearing a pink georgette gown over pink sink, with a corsage bouquet of pink rose buds and sweet peas.
She is well and favorably known here and for some time was a clerk in the store of her uncle, G. H. Kimm.
The groom, who is a stranger here, has but recently returned from overseas, having served 18 months with the Rainbow Division. He has been in the service for three years, before which time he was employed by the Iowa Rating Company, of Des Moines.
Out of town guests present at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Barlosh, of Palo; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Widge of Marion, and Miss Irma Kimm of Blairstown, cousin of the bride.
The happy couple will be at home to their friends after August 1st, at 720 North 10th street west, Cedar Rapids.
Their many friends wish them a happy and prosperous married life.
