Mr. and Mrs. G.E. McNeil were honored by over 125 friends Wednesday evening when they celebrated their Golden Weding [sic] Anniversary with a reception in the Presbyterian Church parlors.

Greetings guests as they arrived were the honored couple and their children, Ernest McNeil and Mr. and Mrs. Don McNeil of Bettendorf, Iowa; Lawrence McNeil of Ontario, Calif, and Mrs. May McFeeters of Rawlins.

Miss Lena Grueger [sic], sister of Mrs. McNeil, was in charge of the guest register, and was assisted by the daughters of Don McNeil, Martha Jean and Christine. Others assisting at the reception were Mrs. Ray Alstadt, of Golden, Colo., formerly of Rawlins, Mrs. Ray Ryan and Mrs. Norman Kretzer.

Members of the Presbyterian Women's Organization assisted with the serving.

Jane Geddes furnished the background music for the affair.

Mrs. A.E. Dahl and Mrs. John Yoakum both of Saratoga served teh lovely three-tiered wedding cake. Both women also assisted at the wedding reception 50 years ago.Mrs. S. H. Stephen and Mrs. H.A. Miller poured from the coffee and tea services.

The wedding cake was decorated in white and gold and was topped with the miniature bride and groom surrounded by a gold wreath. Gold decorated candles, sent to the McNeil's by their grandson James McFeeters from Europe, flanked the wedding cake. Small bowls holding pink camelias [sic] brought to Rawlins by their son Lawrence, also appointed the refreshment table.

There were numerous bouquets of yellow roses in gold vases, arrangements of yello wsnapdragons[sic]and jonquils, pink camellias, and pink and white carnations. On the other tables were placed candles decorated with lillies [sic] of the valley and other lighted white tapers in gold candlesticks. On the gift table two German made dolls were displayed. These dolls were also sent by their grandson, James McFeeters.
