Frank Hannen Takes Georgia Girl For Bride
Frank R. Hannen, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hannen of this city was married Thursday evening, April 22nd, to Miss Lattie Braswell of Washington, D. C. They were married by Brigidier Barrett at the Barrett home in Chevy Chase, Washington, D. C., in the presence of the brides immediate family and a few friends. They were attended by Miss Ethel Braswell, a sister of the bride and Mr. Joe. Martinek, a former Belle Plaine boy and a close friend of the groom.
The bride wore an evening, dress of peach georgette and taffeta, her only ornament being a pearl necklace.
The groom was dressed in a black Prince of Wales suit. The impressive ring service was used.
The room was beautifully decorated with palms and flowers.
Immediately after the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the home of the brides parents, 5514 Sherrier Place where a wedding dinner was served.
The bride was born and raised In Georgia, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Braswell, the family now living in the District of Columbia.
The groom was born and raised near Belle Plaine and received his education in the Belle Plaine Schools, graduating with the class of 1922, after which he completed the course in the Belle Plaine Business College.
They will leave in the near future for a honeymoon trip which will include Georgia, the former home of the bride and later to Iowa, the groom’s former home.
August 1st. they will be at home at Potomac Heights, Washington D. C., after which they will each take up their duties as stenographers in the government service.

James Hannen, Married at Richland, Mo.
James Hannen, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hannen of Cedar Rapids, formerly of this city was married recently at Richland, Mo. where he is now making his home. The young man was reared in this city and after his graduation served as city mail carrier for two years. We are in receipt of the following account of the wedding which is given below:.
"A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Daly an Sunday afternoon, March 20th when their daughter, Iva Irene was united in marriage to Mr. James Hannen both of Richland, Mo.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J.A. Witham of the First Methodist church of Richland. They were attended by Mr. Samuel O. Welch and Miss Helen Carrol. The bride wore a beautiful blue crepe de chine and Miss Carrol a peach colored silk dress.
The bride has the respect of the community and is an acknowledged leader in the Sunday School.
The groom is a prosperous young man, now operating a truck line from Big Piney to St. Louis, Mo. Their many friends wish them a happy and prosperous future. They will make their home at Big Piney where the groom, has a home in readiness for his bride.
The only relative of the groom that was present at tho wedding was Mr. Mack Hannen of Portland, Ore. and he will make an extended visit at their home."
