Julia Formanek January Bride.
Well Known Red Cross Nurse Became Bride of Withers T. Clare at Davenport On Tuesday.
Miss Julia Helen Formanek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Formanek of this city, and Mr. Withers T. Clare, of Indianapolis, Ind. were united in marriage at Davenport at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Eleanor Formanek and Mr. Robert Viack acted as best man.
The bride is well know in this community and in Cedar Rapids. She is a graduate nurse of St. Lukes hospital. Following her graduation from that institution she enlisted in the Red Cross and served sixteen months as a nurse. She spent a year in Waterloo as Supervisor of the Presbyterian Hospital and since leaving there has been doing private nursing.
The groom during the war spent ten months in the army and received a commission as lieutenant. He is now connected with the Capital Hill Monument Co. in Davenport where he and his bride will be at home to their friends after January 15th. They have the best wishes of friends.
