Iowa County Farmer Takes Norway Bride.
A beautiful and impressive wedding occurred at St. Martin's Lutheran church in St. Clair township, Benton County, on Wednesday, February 25. at 3:30 p. m. when Miss Florence Schroeder of Norway Iowa and Mr. William Almendinger of St. Clair township, Benton County, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. The double ring service was used, Rev. C. F. Hinrichs officiating and Edgar Karsten, a cousin of the bride, presiding at the organ.
They were attended by Miss Ferne Dickenson, a cousin of the bride and Mr. John Almendinger, a brother of the groom. The bride was beautifully gowned in orchid silk crepe and a hat to match, carrying a bouquet of pink carnations. The bridesmaid was tastefully attired in green canton crepe and also carried a bouquet of pink carnations. The bridegroom and best man were attired in neat and well fitting suits of black.
The church was beautifully decorated in white and green, an arch hung over the altar from which hung the wedding bell and under which the couple was united.
The bride is a young lady of many charms and graces, well fitted to preside over any home and is one who will do all in her power to make the home a happy one.
The bridegroom is a sturdy young farmer, possessed of the manly qualifications that go to make life a success.
Both young people have resided in this community for many years and have won popularity with every one who knows them.
Immediately after the ceremony, the bridal couple left for a honey moon to Minneapolis and other points.
Mr. and Mrs. Almendinger will be at home to their many friends on the Henry Doerzman farm north of Marengo.
