A Great Many of Benton County's Oldest Citizens Were Called This Fall
George Webb
George Webb, who was recognized as the oldest citizen in Vinton in point of residence, died at this home in this city Monday night.. Mr. Webb was born in Johnson county, Ky., August 3, 1835, and was the youngest son of Aaron and Ruth Webb. At the age of four years he moved with his parents to Franklin, Ind. In 1851, at the age of sixteen years he moved to Vinton and has resided here continually since that time. He was married to Nancy Potter. Three children were born to them, all of whom are living. They are, Mrs. Ida M. Weber, of Tipton, Mrs. Nana Cross and Miss Clara Webb, of this city. There are also three grandchildren, Nana and Helen Weber and George Webb Cross.. The funeral was held at the residence at 2 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Dr. Simm and the body was laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.
