DEATH OF AGED WOMAN FOLLOWS BRIEF ILLNESS
Betsy Haines Spragle
Mrs. E. F. Spragle, 69 years old, a resident of Benton County all her life, died Saturday night at 11:55 at her home three miles northwest of Vinton. She had been ill three days with a complication of aliments.
Funeral services will be held at the Vinton M. E. church Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. C. K. Hudson conducting the rites. Burial in Maplewood cemetery.
Betsy Hains Spragle was born Oct. 16, 1858 on a Benton county farm. She was married to E. F. Spragle on Nov. 4, 1876 at Independence.
All of her married life has been spent on the farm near Vinton. She was a member of the M. E. church. Her late parents were Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Hains.
Surviving are the husband and three children: Horace W. Spragle of Garrison, Fred Spragle of Vinton, and Mrs. Alma Speck of La Porte City.
Other relatives living include three brothers and two sisters as follows: S. O. Haines of Mt. Auburn, Steve Hains of Walthill, Neb., J. M. Hains of Vaughn, Wash., Mrs. Chas. Moffitt of Prescott, IA, and Mrs. J. (?) of St. Paul, Neb.
Mr. and Mrs. Spragle celebrated their golden wedding on Nov. 4, 1926. There are eighteen grandchildren living.
Relatives here from a distance to attend the funeral include the brother, Steve Hains, of Walthill, Neb., and the sister, Mrs. Chas. Moffitt of Prescott, IA

Mr. and Mrs. Horace Spragle, who reside on the George Herger farm, northeast of Garrison, mourn the death of a six month old daughter. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at Garrison and interment was made in the cemetery near the German Evangelical church in Big Grove township.
