Word reached the city yesterday to the effect that Charles Sparrenberger, a farmer living near Norway, who had been prostrated by the heat on the day before, died yesterday morning.

BENTON COUNTY PIONEER IS DEAD
Henry Sparrenberger
Henry Sparrenberger, a pioneer of Benton Co., died at his home in Norway at 7:40 o'clock last night at the age of 79 years. He had been in failing health for the past year.
He was born Sep 3, 1834 in Germany and had lived for many years on a farm in Norway, IA. Besides his wife, Mrs. Sophia Sparrenberger, he leaves nine children: Mr. Katie Schneider of Farmhamville, IA, Mrs. Gertrude Hamilton of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Nancy Meyers of Newhall, Mrs Ellen Carpenter of Knowles, Ok, Mrs Hattie Hartel of Princeton, Minn., Mrs Maggie Erland of Norway, Mrs Lottie Graves of Atkins, Chris ahd Henry Sparrenberger of Atkins. The funeral will be held at the home in Norway at 10 o'clock Friday with interment in the Atkins Cemetery.
