John Siepman Died at Des Moines
John Siepman

John Siepman, 44, born and reared in this community, who served with the American Expeditionary forces in France during the World war as a first class musician, died last Friday, of tuberculosis in the U.S. government hospital in Des Moines. He had been in ill health since last March an entered the hospital in April.

Funeral services were held here Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic church. The Rev. Father Kunkle was in charge of the services. Burial was in St. Michael's cemetery. A military service was held under the direction of the Norway Legion post.

John Siepman, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm Siepman, was born March 9, 1891. He enlisted July 13, 1917. He never married. Three sisters and two brothers living are: Mrs. John Trotsky, Mrs. Del Harwood, and Henry of Norway, Mrs Helen Riddleman of Davenport and Barney Siepman.

{Submitter comment: Tombstone gives year of birth as 1890. Obituary says 1891. If he died in 1935 and he was 44 as obituary states, then 1890 does not seem correct. Tombstone gives date of death as July 26, 1935.}
