The following poem on the death of the father was written by the fifteen year old daughter, Voila: My Papa

My dear, dear papa, dead to me, And dead to all the world I see. But alive in heaven, I do hope, Sitting inside the angel's rope. Oh! how sad, so sad and lonely, It is without him here. As I'm sitting thinking of him, Wishing he were here. But I know he is in heaven, Sitting on the golden stairs, Looking down upon his children, Begging them to say their prayers. Oh! I'm so lonesome, Oh! so lomesome, How can I stand it here? Oh! I wish I were with him Close beside him on the stairs. But we are poor dishearted children Hopes, abmition swepted away.
