Earl N. Reid, 63, Urbana Resident 27 Years, Dies at Vinton
Earl Nathan Reid
Urbana-Earl N. Reid, 63, a resident of Urbana for 27 years, deid Sunday at 2:15 pm at the Vinton hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesdy at 2 pm at the First Christian church here, with the Rev. Oscar R. Barrow in charge. Rites will be conducted by Rob Morris Lodge A.F. and A.M., and burial will be in the Urbana Cemetery. Friends may call at the Murdoch funeral home in Center Point.
Born April 29, 1899 in Toddville, he was a son of George A. and Maude Matheny Reid. He wa married Oct 7, 1920 to Alma Carver in Cedar Rapids. They moved to Urbana from Walker in 1935 and Mr. Reid started the urbana Feed and Implement company. He served overseas in World War I.
Mr. Reid was a member of Walter J. Meyocks Post 264 of the America Legion; Rob Morris Lodge 500 A.F. and A.M.; the Order of Eastern Star, the Shrine anad Consistory.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Maude Reid of Garrison; two sons, Earl R. and Marvin L. both of Urbana; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Benesh of Walker, Mrs. Harold Dake of Vinton and Mrs. Willaim Dake of Garrison; Three brothers, Roy of Ypsilanti, Mich., Clarence of Walker and Albert of Center Point, and five grandchildren, Roger, Leslie, Billy, Marvin and LuCinda.
